What to put on a handyman estimate
List each task
"Patch hallway drywall", "Replace bathroom fan" and "Rehang two doors", each with its own price, let a customer pick which jobs to do.
Say who buys the materials
Either you supply them and list them, or the customer does. Put whichever it is in the Notes box so the price is not a guess.
State what the price assumes
Access, the condition of what you are fixing, and whether the work can be done in one visit.
Line items handymen often use

- Minimum call-out

- Drywall patch and paint

Tired of rebuilding the same estimate?
In Koteshen you can write the estimate (a quote there) on your phone before you leave, and your customer accepts it online. It then becomes the invoice they pay by card.

Questions about handyman estimates
Is there a limit on what a handyman can quote?
Many states limit the size of a job you can do without a contractor license, and the limit varies. Check with your state licensing board before quoting a larger job.
What if the job takes longer than I thought?
For hourly work, say in the Notes box that the estimate is a guide, and tell the customer before you go past it. For flat prices, say what could change it.
Do I charge sales tax on a handyman estimate?
It depends on your state and on whether you are selling labor, materials or both. Check with your state's tax agency or your accountant. This generator doesn't calculate tax, so add it as its own line if you plan to charge it.
