What to put on a roofing estimate
Say what the roof covers
"Main roof only, garage excluded", the area, and how many layers you will remove. The customer can then see exactly which roof the price is for.
Treat decking as an allowance
Say in the Notes box that you price any damaged decking per sheet. A surprise becomes a term you both read.
Name the materials
The shingle line and color, if you have settled them, plus the underlayment and flashing. A swap is easier to sort out when the estimate says what you quoted.

Questions about roofing estimates
Can I give a roofing estimate without going on the roof?
You can estimate from the ground or from photos, but say so in the Notes box, and that the price can change once you open up the roof.
Should the estimate list the warranty?
Put the manufacturer's warranty exactly as it is written, and any workmanship warranty you offer, as separate lines in the Notes box.
Do I charge sales tax on a roofing estimate?
It depends on your state and on whether you are selling labor, materials or both. Check with your state's tax agency or your accountant. This generator doesn't calculate tax, so add it as its own line if you plan to charge it.
