What to put on a tree service estimate
Price each tree on its own line
"Oak by the back fence, removal" and "Maple at the driveway, trim" let the customer choose which trees to do.
Say what happens to the wood and the debris
Hauled away, chipped, or left for the customer. It is a line people question, so settle it before the job.
Note the access and the equipment
If the job needs a crane or a bucket truck, or the trees are near power lines or a fence, say so. It explains the price and any limits on the work.
Line items tree service companies often use
- Tree removal
- Tree trimming
- Stump grinding
- Cleanup and hauling
- Emergency or storm call-out
- Equipment charge
- Wood chips delivered
- Permit fee
Tired of rebuilding the same estimate?
In Koteshen your customer accepts the tree work estimate (a quote there) online, so you have agreement in writing before the crew arrives. It then becomes an invoice they pay by card.

Questions about tree service estimates
Do I need a permit to remove a tree?
It depends on your town or city, and some require one for certain trees. Use the Notes box to say who arranges it, and check with your local authority.
Can the price change on the day?
If the trees turn out different from what you saw, for example a dead limb that needs more work, say in the Notes box that you will tell the customer before the price changes.
Do I charge sales tax on a tree service estimate?
It depends on your state and on what is being sold. Check with your state's tax agency or your accountant. This generator doesn't calculate tax, so add it as its own line if you plan to charge it.
