What to put on a handyman invoice
List each task on its own line
A day of small repairs reads better as "Patch hallway drywall", "Replace bathroom fan" and "Rehang two doors" than as "Misc repairs, 6 hours". The customer sees what they got.
Show hours and rate when you bill by the hour
Put the hours in the quantity and your rate in the rate column, so the customer can check the maths without asking.
Keep materials on separate lines
Parts you bought for the job go on their own lines. If you add a markup, show it the same way every time.

Questions about handyman invoices
Should I charge a minimum call-out?
Many handymen do, since a short job still costs the drive. If you charge one, give it its own line and mention it before you start.
Can I mix hourly work and flat-price tasks on one invoice?
Yes. Use the quantity for hours on the hourly lines and a quantity of 1 on the flat-price tasks.
Do I charge sales tax on handyman work?
It depends on your state and on whether you're selling labor, materials or both. Check with your state's tax agency or your accountant. This generator doesn't calculate tax, so add it as its own line if you charge it.
